Typical cuisine and cozy atmosphere.

The Old Batano Inn is a historic establishment, nestled in the green hills of Lucca.
Founded in 1921 as an inn to feed and house the workers of nearby farms, it also dealt with the production of oil, wine and hay, an activity that is still maintained today. Over time, the Inn has changed several owners, until it finally closed in 2001.
Since 2018, it has been managed by Piergiorgio and his wife Patrizia who, after a long restoration of the structure, have reopened the doors to customers to serve many good dishes from the local tradition."

The venue enjoys a charming location, atop a hill, surrounded by ancient olive groves.
The interiors are arranged with the utmost care to create a modern and yet very welcoming atmosphere, which also lets the beautiful panorama it overlooks speak for itself, from the extensive window.
In the warm season, it is possible to dine outdoors, enjoying the coolness on the terrace.
A unique location in the area, ideal for lunches and dinners with friends, business meetings, and romantic dinners.

The kitchen of the Old Osteria Da Batano is the kingdom of Piergiorgio and the Chef, who together work to serve traditional dishes, made with zero-kilometer raw materials.
Homemade pasta is the main dish of the locale, freshly prepared every day and adored by customers. The menu often changes throughout the year based on the seasonality of the ingredients, while some characteristic dishes are always available. Everything is accompanied by excellent wine, predominantly Tuscan, including Chianti, Bolgheri, Montalcino, Maremma, and typical wines from the Lucca hills.
At the Old Osteria, it′s possible to purchase the renowned local extra virgin olive oil, produced by the farms surrounding the town.

Start your meal at the Osteria with delicious appetizers. A selection of traditional and creative dishes, made with fresh and high-quality ingredients. From classic Tuscan crostini to gourmet bruschette, to tasty local cured meats and cheeses with authentic flavors.
First Courses
The Osteria Vecchia Da Batano is famous for its homemade pasta. Maccheroni, Lucchese tortelli with meat ragų, potato gnocchi with taleggio and truffle, bucatini with pistachio pesto, burrata and crispy guanciale, and typical dishes such as frantoiana soup, soup with new oil and Rosellini alla lucchese are always present on our menu because they represent our culinary tradition.
Meat Entrees
Indulge in our meat entrees prepared by Piergiorgio with skill and passion. Try our tartare tastings, which change according to the season, and various meat options from Florentine steaks, made with only Italian meat, to tagliata, featuring top-quality meats from Argentina and Uruguay. Each dish will surprise you with its quality and freshness.
Sweets and Desserts
Finish your meal with sweetness with our irresistible homemade sweets and desserts. Everything is prepared with care and passion, from the classic tiramisu to homemade cakes, each dessert is an explosion of taste and pleasure for the senses.
